Week 1 Progress:
I like the Robot Palm Project. I want to make the Palm control some motor functions. Jae and Ilya are my official partner for this class. We are also looking into other projects like a Logic Analyzer and a Digital Multimeter. These projects have to keep in mind that we have to use the palm, some hardware interface, and some form of hardware.
The most ideal project will get information from the outside world through the hardware and interface. The Palm will analyze the data and allow users to view/control some function. The result will be fed back to the outside world. Even though this is hard to do, this will be our most ideal project for this class. I think the timing for this will be very difficult. We will use a UART as part of the hardware interface and possibly use a HandSpring for the Handheld device because it is faster and has a better display.
This week, we are still debating on this idea and trying to come up with other ideas to bring up for consideration for the TA. We are also looking at the hardware aspects of projects to see if it is realizable in the time allowed.
