FON: WiFi everywhere!
This is quite interesting, it is similar to the idea I had long time a go, but much better, and very well ariculated. They have received the support from google and skype. And the best is that they are creting this in Madrid. Their main bussines as for now seems to sell Linksys routers, but sure it will change.
Most attempts to buidl such kinds of networks have faile din teh past, bcnwireless.net being one of the, the main reason is that you only get people insterested in accessing fro free, and nobody sharing the bandwidth.
With 20Mb ADSL on some areas, it now starts to make more sense to share the network, specially if there is some revenue you can make.
