Alfred Grau Besolí was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1977. In 2001, he graduated from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), in Barcelona, Catalonia, obtaining the Spanish degree of Telecommunication Engineer. From 2001 to 2002 he worked at GTD Ingeniería de Sistemas y Software Industrial, in Barcelona, designing a satellite communication protocol software for the EUMETSAT Polar System. Also, in 2001 he worked for 4 months as a radio frequency (RF) associated engineer at LCC Int. Inc, in London, UK. From 2000 to 2001 he conducted his graduation project in Telecommunication Engineering at the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES), in Toulouse, France, with a Leonardo Da Vinci Fellowship, working in radar and optical image classification. In July 2002, he was awarded a Balsells Fellowship to pursue a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). His current research interests are focused on smart antennas systems and diversity techniques for RF wireless applications, and in particular, antenna miniaturization, multi-element antenna (MEA) systems, system re-configuration capabilities and MEMS

Yunhong Liu was born in Tianjin, China, on January 19, 1976. He graduated from the Beijing University, China, and received B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics, in 1998 and 2000 respectively. He worked on "Vortex Dynamics in the High Tc Superconductor" for his M.S. degree, supervised by Professor Gao, Zhengxiang. He joined the Georgia State University and the University of Minnesota as a teaching assistant in the 2000 and 2001 respectively. From September 2002, he joined the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, the University of California, Irvine. Now he is working on his Ph.D. degree under the joint supervision of the Dean of the School of Engineering N. G. Alexopoulos and Prof. F. De Flaviis.
